Remodeling Project for an existing residence

Second floor remodel - removing an existing wall and adding four venting skylights. The area of skylights was originally an opening in the roof itself. The project consisted of enclosing this space and making it habitable while bringing in a lots of light and ventilation to the second floor area.

Working with a family of five who bought a home recently in the suburbs of Illinois.
The project consists of remodeling of the existing first floor and adding a new second floor.
The original home is photographed in black and white.
We worked through numerous sketches before arriving at a floor plan and exterior elevations that all were happy with. Stay tuned for updates as we go through construction this year.

Two design options for the view from the street were discussed - the top rendering was chosen for the final design and implementation.
